Pre-Requsites:  Must have successfully completed the 3 hour, home-study portion plus submitted Copy of current PTCB or ExCPT Certification + Letter of Recommendation from supervising qualified Pharmacist + current CPR status.

Upon completion of this application-based program, the technician will be able to:  1)  Identify Clinic/Pharmacy Policies and Procedures  (includes CPR/OSHA/Hep B); 2)  Discuss the Pharmacy Technician Role in New Mexico; 3)  Interpret screening questions, patient responses, and vaccine consent form; 4)  Describe sterile technique, safety needle devices, and other injection techniques; 5)  Describer proper use of sharps, needlestick management, and post vaccine care; 6)  Recognize treatment and management of emergency reactions to vaccines; 7)  Review Immunization Regulations and Emergency Order Regulation for New Mexico and 8)  Discuss FAQs about immunizations and patient cases that the technician may encounter.

The New Mexico Pharmacists Association is accredited by the

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This application-based program provides 2.0 contact hours (0.2CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education.  Participants must have a passing grade of 70% on the home-study quiz and are required to turn in a completed program evaluation form to receive the designated CEUs.  Your CPE credits  will be submitted into the CPE Monitor Database within 60 days based on the information provided on the program evaluation form.
